For bankruptcy trustees and assignees
A new asset class
for your estates.
AI labs license de-identified operational records (chat history, documents, support tickets, code) from closed companies. For a software-heavy or service debtor, that data can be sold like any other estate asset. We handle the buyer side at no cost to the estate.
Debtors that ran on software
Agencies, SaaS, call centers, MSPs, bookkeeping and logistics firms. Any size; 30+ employees at peak opens the largest programs.
De-identified first
Names, contact details and customer information are removed before delivery. Buyers see only redacted samples.
How it fits your process
Four steps, inside the case you already run.
Preserve
Ask the debtor or custodian to keep Slack, Google Workspace and similar accounts active. Deleted history can't be sold.
Screen
We confirm fit from basic facts: headcount, tools, years of records. No data changes hands.
Offer
The licensing program evaluates de-identified samples and makes an offer to the estate.
Approve
The sale proceeds under your normal process, including court approval where required.
If the debtor's privacy policy restricted transfers of personal information, 11 U.S.C. §363(b)(1) may call for a consumer privacy ombudsman before a sale. Records are de-identified before delivery, which your counsel can take into account.
The licensing program pays Backlist a referral fee, never the estate. We disclose it in writing so it can be included in any sale motion. We don't offer referral payments to trustees or other estate fiduciaries.
Tell us about a case.
A debtor type and rough headcount is enough to start. We reply within one business day. Please don't include confidential case information.
